Chapter  History

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, Omicron Omicron Omega Chapter® was chartered on October 6, 1984.  Since then, the chapter has made a tremendous impact in serving others in Marion County, Dillon County, and surrounding areas of the Pee Dee. Omicron Omicron Omega exemplifies sisterhood, service, passion, zealous, and love for all mankind.  The vision of having a local chapter began in Marion, South Carolina over 34 years ago by Diane Davis- Lewis and Dorothy Pressley-Turner. These two women structured the goals for Omicron Omicron Omega and took charge to manifest a new vision in Marion and Dillon counties.  The plan was put into action by Diane Davis-Lewis by reaching out to different organizations to support children camps globally and locally.  Irene Page formed the reading group and started our local children touring HBCU colleges.    Fannie Mason worked with children in those areas.  Pamela Brown made sure that the children of Marion and Dillon Counties had the opportunity to publish their own books. Irene Page and Sandra Coombs formed a girl’s group Extra Special Pearls that focused on etiquette and education.  With the direction of Andrea Favor we helped children globally and locally and received literacy awards with the help of Connie Black and Fannie Mason.  The Chapter continues to uphold Service to All Mankind under the leadership of Sandra Faye Barnes.
